Airborne Ultrasonic Testing is used extensively
to detect and analyze electrical problems on high energy equipment such as
switchyard/highyard areas, bushings and high voltage transformers. Ultrasound
is an excellent supplement to infrared thermographic imaging in those infrared
testing applications where safety concerns prohibit the opening of high and
medium voltage enclosures under load. Ultrasound also has numerous mechanical
applications such as air leaks, low/high speed sleeve bearing rubs, valve leaks,
etc.
